P4/5’s Outdoor Learning and Arthur’s Seat Topic

Over the entire project, we have been learning about how Arthur’s Seat was formed, types of rock found on the land, comparing the land in the past and present, creating pieces of art to represent how the land has changed (there are some great young artists in the class!!), completing research on significant figures linked to Arthur’s Seat, learning about the Tapestry of Scotland and much much more!

We have been on two very exciting class trips to Arthur’s Seat, where we were given guided tours by PC Lily Laing from the Historic Scotland Ranger Service. She gave us lots of interesting facts about the land and it’s history. We also found a hidden beach were we experimented making our own sedimentary rock! Both trips we went on were long but we had lots of fun!

Look at the pictures to see how we got on…
