Extreme Fossils

This term we will be learning about “Dinosaurs” as our new class topic.

We have learnt about when dinosaurs lived and died.

We have been doing “show and tells” about dinosaurs and fossils, from this we have learnt how fossils look and feel. We have been learning about fossils, what they are, how they are made and how paleontologists find, extract and study them.

We were pretending to be paleontologists, we each got 1 chocolate chip cookie and 1 toothpick and we used the toothpicks to excavate the chocolate chips without breaking them. The person who excavated the most won. From this we learned how hard it is for paleontologists to excavate fossils from the ground.

Have a look at the photographs of us being paleontologists!
