P1/2 have been busy learning about 3 types of farming. Last week we learned the names of the 3 types of farming that we will be learning about and this week we began learning about fruit and vegetable farming. We have been learning about how fruit and vegetables are grown. On Monday we did some fruit tasting. We looked at, felt, smelt and tasted each fruit, describing it as we did so. We tasted strawberries, doughnut peaches, banana, lemon, lime and orange.
We had a super afternoon on Thursday, making our own vegetable soup. We had to carefully grate and cut a variety of vegetables including, mushrooms, onions, carrots, potatoes, parsnip, broccoli, cauliflower, pepper and leek. We found the cutting and grating of the vegetables fun but a challenge! On Friday morning we got to enjoy our soup!
