P4 love Science!

Primary 4 have had great fun exploring materials (solids, liquids and gases) through different science experiments.

This week we worked in pairs to make mini lava lamps to learn about chemical reactions. We learnt that the citric acid dissolves in the water and reacts with the bicarbonate of soda to produce carbon dioxide. This chemical reaction, along with some vegetable oil and food colouring, created a mini lava lamp effect.
