Cup of tea anyone?!

Yesterday we had a visit from Laurence’s Dad Ray and his friend Donald. They brought along a kettle powered by pedalling a bike. It produced electricity when Laurence’s Dad pedalled and his pedalling turned the motor which then powered the kettle. It produced electricity which heated up the cup of water (kettle) to 95 C and we made a cup of tea with it for Laurence’s Dad!

This was a really awesome experiment to watch and be part of and what a great addition to our week of Electricity!  We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Ray and Donald for coming in today and for taking the time to answer all of our questions. We loved it!

It was surprising how much effort it took to boil just one small cup of water. I got a nice cup of tea though!
