Chinese New Year, Pancake Day and Teddy Bears’ Hospital!

We have had a super busy week in P1/2. We have been learning about Chinese New Year on Monday afternoon and how this is celebrated and continued with this learning on Tuesday afternoon. We made our very own Chinese Dragons! We were very excited and happy to make our own Chinese New Year dragons to take home with us.

On Tuesday, we had great fun making and eating pancakes to celebrate Shrove Tuesday! Then on Wednesday afternoon we had our visit from the Teddy Bears’ Hospital along with the P1 class. Here we built on our learning in class about keeping ourselves safe. We did 5 different activities and learned some new things too! We looked at how the bones in our body are connected to make our skeletons and enjoyed trying to put a pretend skeleton back together. We also spoke about what to do in different emergency situations, as well as learning about the organs in our body and had a go at putting these organs back in the correct place. We visited the Teddy Bears’ Hospital with our teddies and helped them to feel better, by hearing their hearts through a stethoscope and putting plasters on their sore bits. We also sorted things into harmful and unharmful, having lots of good discussion about this.

Enjoy looking at our photos from this week!

Have a super holiday next week!
