We have been working very hard throughout our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory topic.
In literacy, we have been listening to the story and discussing Roald Dahl’s use of language in the story. We have been using some of his tecniques to produce some interesting writing about the main events in the story, the settings and character descriptions. We have also been learning about creating newspaper articles.
Our topic has included alot of drama. We have had great fun acting out the characters in role, hot seating – answering questions in role of a character and interviewing different characters.
We had great fun learning an Oompa-Loompa style dance and then created our own Oompa-Loompa style dances where we had to work in small groups and develop our own moves.
Finally, we have been learning all about the process of how chocolate is made: from pollination to eating. We wrote choclate fact files in ICT and we also investigated the changing states of chocolate when we made chocolate crispies on the last day of term.
