John Muir Award – in the classroom

Primary 5 have had a busy week bringing our outdoor learning back into the classroom.

We have been busy this week documenting our learning around the John Muir Award. We have all written an article for our John Muir Achievement Book which parents can look at on Parent’s Night. We have also typed out our group contributions for the web site that Miss Fitzpatrick is helping us with.

On Tuesday we worked hard to create our own maps of Holyrood Park which show the areas we learnt most about. And then on Wednesday some of us did some paintings and drawings of the plants and shrubs we photographed in the Park, whilst others painted some landscapes of Arthur’s Seat.

Today we took the bird feeders we made from pipe cleaners and cheerios and we put them on the trees in the playground. PC Lily has been back to tell us that all the bird feeders we made last week have already been stripped of all their cheerios, so it is important to keep feeding the birds!
