We have been continuing reading our class novel, the BFG. Last week we created our own dream jar collection and now have lots of funny and exciting dreams to choose from. We are also continuing to read our individual reading books and complete corresponding comprehension tasks.
Over the last two weeks we have worked closely with Miss Forbes and her P3 class who are also studying Ancient Egypt. We had an Ancient Egypt arts and craft afternoon where the two classes were mixed and split into two. All groups had the opportunity to work with Miss Forbes to learn about and design their own sarcophagus. Groups also worked with me (Miss Doig) to learn about pyramids and make our own 3D versions from a pyramid net. Next week we will have the opportunity to work in these groups again to complete our tasks.
On Thursday both P3 and P3/4 were very excited to go on our trip to the National Museum of Scotland. We were very thankful that Arden’s dad (Mr Connor,) Noah’s Mum (Mrs Gray) and Mrs Davidson were able to join and help us on our exciting day out.
We all took part in an Ancient Egyptian trail around the museum where we had to investigate different items from Ancient Egypt. We looked at a real sarcophagus, tomb stones and statues. It brought what we were learning about in the classroom to life.
In the afternoon of our trip we explored the rest of the museum having the chance to explore the technology, discovery and sensory areas. It was lots of fun and even the adults enjoyed it.
All adults were very impressed by the excellent behaviour of both classes on the trip, well done!
Please enjoy all the pictures!
