To coincide with Friendship week, I incorporated internet safety because I believe they go hand in hand, especially with reference to cyberbullying. According to TeenSafe, over 80% of teens use a mobile phone regularly, making it the most common medium for cyber bullying. With an ever increasing number of primary children using mobile phones these days, it is no surprise that cyberbullying is on the increase. It is also vital that that we encourage our children to never share their private information such as their usernames and passwords.
So, with that in mind, I set the class a simple challenge. They had to create a video in their cooperative learning groups that highlights the dangers of both. After viewing all five videos, the class voted on their favourite. This video then represented our class and was shown at today’s class assembly.
I wish I could have uploaded all five videos, however due to limited online storage within our blogs, I am unable to do so.
