Where has the time gone as Primary 5 have enjoyed another busy week.
In numeracy we have been learning strategies to multiply bigger numbers. At the end of the week we enjoyed applying these strategies to real- life situations. Next week we are moving onto division strategies, whilst continuing to work on our times tables knowledge. Continuing to practise all our times tables at home is still a very important part of our learning.
We have also been working on our Topic looking at the human body and how we keep it healthy. The class have now all started their magazines with an informative article on the heart. As the photographs show, we also drew some life-sized human bodies which the cooperative groups will fill in as we learn more.
As it is Scots week, we have also been learning about the local artist, Ritchie Collins. We have created some fabulous artwork of Scottish buildings in oil pastels and crayons in the style of this artist. There is now a truly stunning ‘gallery’ of this work outside the classroom, which makes me smile every time I pass it.
