At Preston Street, we are proud to be part of the groundbreaking Hong Kong Scotland Schools Improvement Partnership (HKSSIP) group.
HKSSIP contains a number of primary and secondary schools from Hong Kong and Scotland. The group exists to improve learning for young people in both Hong Kong and Scotland through exposure to different ideas and cultures.
We are currently linked with Yau Ma Tei Catholic Primary School in Kowloon, Hong Kong. So far, pupils from Preston Street have visited Yau Ma Tei on two occasions – September 2017 and September 2018 – while their Yau Ma Tei counterparts have made the trip to Preston Street on a further two occasions.
Our next visit to Hong Kong was planned for February 2020, when 16 of our current P7 pupils were scheduled to participate in a cultural and learning exchange with Yau Ma Tei. Unfortunately, this visit had to be cancelled, due to the ongoing political unrest in Hong Kong.
While we are disappointed to be missing out on this experience, we hope to be able to renew our links with Yau Ma Tei in the future.
